K-5 math teachers will learn about Reasoning Routines that support instruction in mathematics. These powerful routines create a spectrum of support teachers can use to ignite reasoning and sense making in the classroom. Routines such as these allow for a greater focus on learning, build crucial mathematical thinking habits, and provide a wider range of learners with access to the development and use of the math practices. By the end of this session, participants will be able to: 1. Understand the purpose for using reasoning routines such as Notice & Wonder and the Three Reads, 2. Be able to lead students through one or both of these routines, 3. Add these routines into their weekly practices by including in the design of their Guided Math framework.
