This session will introduce K-5 math teachers to eight effective instructional practices to be included in the classroom. The practices shared by the NCTM published book "Principles to Actions" help teachers provide discourse, constructive struggle, and enhance procedural fluency (to name a few). Join us as we discuss great strategies you can use tomorrow with students. By the end of this session, participants will be able to: 1. Understand and implement some or all of the 8 effective strategies, 2. Design ways to imbed these strategies in everyday teaching, 3. See the value in using strategies like these to be an effective teacher of mathematics at all elementary grade levels.
